100 Lotus Flowers

2009: 100 Lotus Flowers taking me through a transition in my life. Each flower is a message which brings me closer to the goal. I try to come to terms with myself, and be myself. What messages do the flowers hold?
2013: What is the goal? I no longer know what it is, except for reaching the 100. But the 100 was not supposed to be the goal itself, but rather help reach the.....the.....I am lost, honestly lost. Everything I was striving for has diminished in importance. I do not know what to strive for. I think striving for anything now is pointless....but I will keep drawing and painting.
2014: A renewed sense of purpose, things seem to be falling into place.

100 Lotus Flowers, 100 points of healing.

51 - Lotus on Water

51st Lotus Flower - Lotus on Water
Sometimes I wake early in the morning and just need to doodle. This was my morning doodle. No plan, no direction...just taking one line at a time.

But such a thing requires patience.

The difference with the concept of "one step at a time in life" is that you cannot see the larger whole in front of you. But in drawing, you can see the previous lines drawn and how the connect with the next. Not so easy to see in real life.........

Halfway through at Number Fifity

Spiral Lotus - Samantha Rochard
With the recent Venus Transit, I attempted to create a Lotus Flower using the path the Venus travels, which has a flowered shape.

This pattern emerged from my attempts. Not what I had expected, but I felt that it was worthy of completion, a beauty in itself. Very pleased with the finished results.

And the obvious lesson?

We may set out on a path, with a goal in mind; and end up with a completely different result either equal in beauty or more beautiful than our original intention. Sometimes its just good to go with the flow to see where you end up.
