The more the mind gets entrenched
into an ideology,
The stronger the ideology becomes.
The more the artist creates on one particular theme,
The faster the images on that theme flow.
I remember reading about a discussion in creative development. In seeking perfection there are two paths. One path is to obsess over the first piece, and will re-work it until it is perfect. The other path speaks to creating freely and quickly and letting each work stand on its own.
An experiment was done with two potters; each following one of the paths to perfecting the object. It turned out that the second method gave more insight and led the potter to begin creating extraordinarily beautiful pots after completion of the process. The other potter had to start from scratch each time. The repetition process drove home the mistakes and taught the potter what not to do. We must allow ourselves to make mistakes, for this is how we learn.
Creative flow comes from repetition.
